For a project that I am currently working on, I need various electronic components. And sometimes I think a test rendering has a certain aesthetic quality that is quite presentable. I like this type of product visualization with a strong depth of field to show the size relationships better (miniature or macro).
Unfortunately, I only noticed later that the margin of the rigid body simulation is too large. If you take a closer look, you can see that the resistors seem to be floating. But never mind, actually it was just a test render. :-)
In the simulation renderings, the wire of the resistors is still rounded at the ends - this of course seems unrealistic. I fixed this in the later single render - the wires should look as if they were cut with a side cutter.
The material (see node-tree) is still temporary. Finally, I want the material to be completely procedural and automated - ideally, the following values should be specified:
- resistance value in ohms,
- the tolerance in percent
- the color of the body
Then you get the right material.
Unfortunately, my knowledge of more complex node tree configurations is not sufficient for this. I probably also need drivers and a little Python ...
If I make progress, I will present them here.
Thanks for watching. :-)
