And once again one of those random products. Actually I just wanted to try to model a geosphere out of hexagons. Whatever I tried, there were always some pentagons. So I made a virtue out of necessity and erased the pentagons. I then placed a point light in the middle of each sphere - and then rendered it with volumetric effects.
Blender with Cycles-X is faster than the old version, but volumetric effects with noise and turbulence need a few hours until it looks reasonably noise-free thanks to Denoiser.
The final version turned out to be a little cheesy, but I like it. I also uploaded the unedited rendering for comparison.
And - as always - thanks for watching!
